Brian McKnight has been turning out smooth, sophisticated adult-contemporary R&B since the early 1990s, and the songwriting and the production on his albums, not to mention the singer's silky croon, have only improved over the years. GOLD, his 2007 two-disc set, is the definitive McKnight best-of, culling from across his discography and including, with a few exceptions, all of the artist's chart hits.
In addition to featuring Knight's stunning string of singles, GOLD also includes three tracks previously unreleased in the U.S., as well as collaborations with Mariah Carey, Kenny G., and Earth, Wind, and Fire. At the time of this release, Knight had been working at a consistently excellent slow boil for 25 years, and this set is the best way to sample the best from that period.
